Husky Sled Event 2004
Home

The Dorset Group helps with the BHF Cycle ride each year providing emergency communications
and some cycle recovery and repair facilities. The event regularly attracts over 1100 entries......
I wish to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the superb effort put into Sunday 9th May 2004,
Exercise Cycle, organised by the British Heart Foundation.
Without the assistance of all volunteers on events of this nature, the event could not function efficiently.
This can be seen by the comments of National BHF and local BHF senior organisers after the event.
Not only did they take the trouble to visit RAYNET Control on numerous occasions throughout the event,
but, after the event was closed, they both came to Control and thanked RAYNET for the excellent,
professional and efficient way in which it handled all communications during the event. Particular
thanks were extended to Paul G7GNU, Francis G6VUI, Dave G0WTG and Tim 2E1TAC, who had
assisted so greatly in the repairs of cycles. Other operators also came into this frame but names
could not be remembered, so a hearty thanks to one and all from British Heart Foundation.
Just as an aside at this point, Warwickshire RAYNET were also covering a similar ride near Warwick.
Once again, I must thank everyone who took part in the event, making it a safe and friendly
environment for both operators and riders to be part of. I look forward to the pleasure of working
with you all again on our next event.
