A new event for RAYNET - the Bournemouth Scouts 38 - Night Exercise!
We provided radio net and safety cover for the night event, initially on site
the evening before to build the Control Shack and Mast Support (New items
engineered by Date G0WTG). On the event day - set up started at 13:00
in order to be fully operational when base members started arriving at 17:00.
The hiking event was mainly in an offroad area, near Odstock village and required
extensive use of 4x4 vehicles. A couple of the bases could be accessed by normal
road vehicle although all bases where a reasonable distance off the beaten track.

The scenery was excellent and the event itself went very well, with no scouts
getting lost. The event ended about 03:00 sunday when the shack and mast
support had to be packed away... this made a late and long day for some members.
